"New York...not so big" the begining

I had lived in NYC approximately 2 weeks when the first "New York....not so big"moment occurred. It was my first "going-out" weekends in NYC and I was invited to my friend from SAS Nancy's Birthday at some midtown bar. Certainly, there were plenty of SAS people I hadn't seen in more than like 5 years that also live in the city but...I guess that wasn't really that surprising to see them...New York is a big city after all.

However, it wasn't until I was chatting up some dude (Ernie P. the other half of Bert to be exact) when Rademas, a friend through Tyrell/Omar from Boston, walks into the bar to attend the same freaking party for my SAS friend. I was so taken off guard to see him (since I really didn't understand what his connection is) and I felt a little be guilty because it looked like I was ab to hook up with Ernie P (Ewwwe!) even though I think Omar may or may not have been in the pix still. Regardless, the next morning we were all sitting around in my apartment recapping the night and in reference of running into Rademas we coined the term "New York...not so big" and actually kinda small!

Running into old hookup with his girlfriend

One weekend a girl friend from college was visiting. A month before her visit we made reservations at Butter for dinner and planned to go to Meatpacking afterward. A guy who was the object of my affection since college also lives in the city, since all of us were knew eachother I texted him telling him someone was in town. He called and we chatted and I told him we were going to Butter for dinner. His response was that of shock because he now had something to tell me. He was "sort of seeing someone" and her friends were in town and they were going to Butter. Since I had the reservations and my friends hopes up, I wasn't about to cancel and since they weren't his plans he couldn't cancel. Of course in New York the standard dinner time is 9-9:30 so we were bound to see him. Of course we did right was we walked into the bar. (I was looking fab in a new Theory tunic, leggings, and hot patent pumps from Stuart Weitzman.) And of course he introduces her as his girlfriend. (Glad he introduced her as that because they dated for roughly one month after.) It was a whirlwind and we went to the bar on the opposite side and I proceeded to have serveral martinis before dinner (which included a bottle of wine). Before dinner I had made myself so sick I was ill in the ladies room. I also said to my friend after sitting, "Wait did I order". As we finished up our dinner he stopped over to say hello and let us know where he was going so we didn't, because after all, New York...not so big.
